The
apartment is located in Almoradi on the northern side of the
Segura River, southern Costa Blanca. Almoradi is a typical
Spanish town and offering a taste of the real Spain, with
much of it’s inherent culture and tradition retained.
The
World Health Organisation rates this area as one of the
healthiest places in the world to live due to the weather
and the salt lakes nearby.
The
apartment is a five minute walk from the centre of town,
with it’s impressive church and plaza, a busy meeting place
in the evening. The town is open all year, not just the
holiday season! There are restaurants, bars, banks, doctors,
dentists, pharmacies, bakers, butchers, shops, take away,
municipal pool, gym, taxis, supermarkets (one English) etc.
all within walking distance. Almoradi is famous for its
furniture making and of course there are many furniture
shops. There are many fiestas throughout the year and a
large market every Saturday.
Close by Almoradi, a ten minute drive, there are golf
courses and the white sandy beaches of Guardamar.
A
little further, there are many more beaches, with sand dunes
and pine trees providing shade. Many of the beaches are
“blue flag” beaches and have lifeguards and there are also
some naturist beaches.
For
more shopping and entertainment, the new Habaneras shopping
centre in Torrevieja is 15 minutes away. In this location
can also be found other large retail outlets, hypermarket,
restaurants, bars, aqua park, cinema, bowling, casino and
the famous Pacha night club which opens from around midnight
until nine o clock in the morning. Further on into the
centre of Torrevieja are many more shops, restaurants and
bars and on Friday is the famous huge street market. On the
sea front promenade there is a large funfair, craft market
and “bar street” with bars and pubs that open well into the
early hours. There are also a couple of go karting tracks
about 20 minutes away.
Almoradi is also an excellent location for venturing further
a field, situated 5 minutes from the AP-7 motorway.
There
is Elche, a large town with the largest palm forest in
Europe, the historical cities of Cartagena, Murcia and
Alicante. Mar Menor, a huge expanse of sea almost cut off
from the Mediterranean by the famous coastal strip of land
called La Manga. Benidorm needs no introduction and can be
reached in around an hour and a half.
Accommodation:
New three
bedroom, two bathroom apartment completed in summer 2005.
There are beds for five people and a sofa bed can
accommodate a further two people. It is situated on the top
(third) floor and there are two lifts, a communal pool and
roof terrace.
There
is a master bedroom with ceiling fan and fully fitted en
suite, a twin bedroom with floor standing fan, a single
bedroom with floor standing fan and a further fully fitted
bathroom.
The
kitchen is fitted with cupboards, oven, hob, extract fan,
fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, teapot etc. The
cupboards are well stocked with crockery, cutlery, glasses,
pans etc.
There
are also tables and chairs for dining. Next to the kitchen
is a utility area with water heater, washing machine and
barbeque.
The
spacious lounge/diner has ceiling fan, dining table, coffee
table, sofa bed, two armchairs, TV, DVD and
radio/cassette/CD player.
French
windows lead to a balcony with chairs and table, sun
loungers and a parasol is also available. There is a
long corridor leading from the entrance to the apartment
with adequate space for storing luggage. Entry to the main
building can be enabled with a door entry phone system
located in the apartment. Other useful items for your stay
include an iron, ironing board, clothes airier, hairdryer,
maps and local information.
Cots,
highchairs etc can be provided, hire rates on request.
Towels and bedding are provided but please bring your own
beach towels. There is a local key holder to meet and greet
and airport pick up service can be provided at extra cost if
required.
