villa, walk past 5 or 6 other villas to view the magnificent
salt lakes and take a stroll around the area.
Step outside the
rear of the villa onto one of two terraces for stunning
views of the valley below. From here you have uninterrupted
views over the valley to La Manga and the Mar Menor (small
sea).

Facilities:
The plaza at
Villamartin boasts many restaurants and bars with lively
entertainment and is only a 5 minute drive away. The choice
of restaurants in the entire area is vast ranging from
traditional Tapas and paella to Chinese, Indian and Italian.
Special Points:
The area includes a variety of activities as
well as the blue flag beaches. The closest beaches are La
Zenia or Cabo Roig bay. Alternatively, drive to Lo Pagon, a
further 15 minutes away to experience a typical Spanish
resort complete with mud baths renown for their healing
properties and skin conditioning minerals. Some excellent
seafood restaurants can be found here. Take the opportunity
to visit La Manga and the Mar Menor where the water is
shallow and warmer than the Mediterranean. Whilst in the
area visit the La Manga Club, world famous for its golf and
tennis- you may spot a celebrity or two!
There are 3 golf courses within 5 minutes drive
of the Villa including Villamartin and Real de Campoamor.
There are 16 in the area in total including the famous La
Manga. There is also tennis, bowling, petangue, water parks,
theme parks and of course Spanish fiesta’s depending on the
time of year. The street markets are daily in various towns
and villages in the area including San Pedro, San Miguel and
Torrevieja.
The old towns of Elche (famed for its date
palms and leather shoes at manufacturers prices), Cartehenga
and the City of Murcia are all within 30-40 minutes drive as
is Alicante and La Manga.
Murcia is an affluent Spanish city with a very
up market shopping centre and many historic buildings such
as the Cathedral and Museum Salzillo. Fortuna, famed for its
hot water springs is situated west of Murcia.
The Island of Tarbarca is well worth a boat
trip from Torrevieja. Take your snorkel, have a swim and
then sample the wonderful barbequed fresh fish.
The climate in the southern Cost Blanca is very
mild as it is sheltered by the mountains and salt lakes. The
minimum average daily temperature even in the winter months
is usually 16 or 17 degrees. Spring and autumn bring
temperatures of 20-24 degrees and the summer reaches 30
degrees.
The choice of airport is either Alicante or
Murcia. Alicante is approximately 50 minutes drive and
Murcia 35-40 minutes.
A £250 booking/cancellation fee and breakage
deposit is required at the time of booking.
The nearest bars, restaurants and shops are a
15 minute walk.
